Innovation activities are a critical factor in\r\nnational and regional development. The innovative\r\nbehaviour of companies is one of the main sources of\r\ncompetitiveness, business survival, economic growth\r\nand employment in a territory. It is therefore\r\nimportant to identify and understand the factors that\r\ndetermine innovation behaviour among enterprises. In\r\nline with this, the aim of this study is to analyse the\r\nrelations between innovation-related variables and the\r\nimpact that they have on company performance. The\r\nresearch model proposed is applied to two high-tech\r\nsectors of the Italian region of Lazio to verify its\r\nvalidity. The examination concerns the aerospace and\r\nbiotech sectors, which are characterized by strong\r\ninnovative activity.
